Gyros Teller VI a small 20mm Cold War game
« on: May 24, 2024, 09:58:30 AM »
A small game that we played using the Seven Days to the River Rhine rules at Legionary, Exeter 11 May. A Belgian Battlegroup was tasked with holding the village of Gyros Teller, to allow the 33(UK) Armd Bde to carry out a passage of lines and push forwards.

The initial attack was made by elements of an NVA MR Regt, equipped with T-55 and BTR-60. This was quite quickly blunted with all bar one tank destroyed, a flanking move by 2 platoons of T-72 managed to push further before being smashed. At this point a 3SA T-64 Tank bn (+) appeared and began to put pressure on the Belgians who began a fighting withdrawal, however not without such heavy loss that the T-64 Bn was down to less than 50%.

A good game, bit crowded, but we intend to take it to a SW wargames centre and re run with much bigger table space.

It's already a big and nice table to play! I hope you will post pictures when you will "re-run with much bigger table space"!  :)

Now that looked like a game!  Well done!  And kudos to those Belgians...

Great looking table, but "bit crowded" about a table that probably wouldn't fit in my house explains why I've started painting up 6mm stuff for the Cold War  ;D
