The fourth game in our ongoing campaign sees both the Orcs and Dwarves searching the site of a long dead dragon for treasure and coming to blows as usual. Things didn’t end well for the Orcs, the whole warband was wiped out but some will survive for the next game.
The Orcs relaxing and sunbathing in the late afternoon sun.
The dwarf retinue pose for the pre match obligatory photo. Having spent some of the renoun points earned from previous games they have added two new members to the group, Sir Michael of Rappaport with his battle axe and a crossbow armed regular.
Setting off to search amongst the rock piles as fast as their little legs will carry them.
During the last game the Orcs found a ring of teleportation and decided to give it to the troll who immediately teleported behind the Dwarves. Dwarf archer Robert de Mortemur unphased by the sudden appearance of the troll to his rear turned and with one expertly placed arrow between the eyes shot the troll dead, Much to the amusement of his fellow warriors.
The Orc chieftain was very angry and remonstrated from atop a rock pile, shouting profanities at the Dwarves!
Meanwhile his sneaky shaman crept into range of the Dwarves who were busy looking for treasure and unleashed a lightning bolt killing Sir Ronald de Corbett.
The Orcs stumble upon a human lady who has been hiding amongst the rocks, she’s not too keen on spending time in their company and flees in the direction of the Dwarves.
Hello pretty!
Oi! Come back here!
Distracted by the sight of lady the Orc chief, a great target perched on his rock and is soon taken out by a thunderbolt from a successful rune casting by Sigmund the Runemanster.
The Orcs continue to chase the lady who is still not keen on their advances.
Meanwhile the Orc Shaman continues to sneak forward unfortunately for him, he’s now within range of Sigmund who unleashes another rune blasting the shaman into the netherworld.
The remaining Orcs sensing their time is running out make a last minute charge, the Dwarven warriors eager for a fight run to meet them.
What should have been a quickly won fight by the better armed and trained dwarf lord Herve de Villachaise turns into an epic fight with neither side taking losses. Sir Peter of Dinklage joins the fight eager for Orc blood.
Eventually the battlefield falls silent with all the orcs dispatched. Two Dwarves lie mortally wounded; Sir Ronald and Sir Herve. Both survive the post game recovery rolls and will live to fight another day.
