I run a monthly campaign game for my local group. The first two games had everyone on the same board (larger than the 2x2 I normally use) For this game, I broke the players into two groups.
Markus (Shady University group using the war to hide their dealings) and Garison (Germans) battled on one Stalingrad board for a lost communication device that an American commando unit lost.
Joe (Germans), Mike (shady cultists who seem to pop up everywhere with some sort of hidden agenda), and Steph (some Texan-born ladies working for the American Government) battled in another part of the city for a prototype suit of Russian power armor.
Both groups had only a limited time as the Russians were about to bomb both areas of the city to prevent the Germans from getting either of the items.
Markus and Garrison got into a typical move and shoot out. And despite some wounds on both sides (and the no-good nephew getting caught in a grenade), the real damage came when they drew the bombing run early. That left many of the models in the middle of the board as bombs started falling. Garrison thought falling back was the best option after the first round of bombs started falling. Markus, unfortunately caught the brunt of the explosions with his professor being hit 3 times and there not being much left to identify him. However, his dog was able to crawl off the board (after suffering a direct hit as well) carrying the radio. Markus, if he sticks with this faction after losing 2 Grade 1s, will have the radio to use in future games.
On the other board, Steph and Joe opened up on each other early and Mike was able to position himself to hit many encounter markers in one turn. One of them happened to be the Power suit. And lo and behold, his cloaked minion proved smart enough to get in and get the suit walking. He was able to walk it off the board before the bombs started falling. Mike's cultists will have the Power suit to use in future games should they wish to.
