Sculpting figures with super sculpy

Has anyone tried it and succeeded?

I've done some bigger stuff out of it and was moderately happy, but I'm wondering if the oven curing will effect anything small  

The reason why is that I prefer working with it to 'green stuff'.

I believe that Tony Barton (AB Miniatures) uses sculpy and fimo.

I work with fimo and sculpy - although I'm still learning, so there's that as well. I found there's a big difference between types of clay particularly with fine detail.

Works fine. I've seen a guy doing incredibly fine detail with Supersculpey Firm (the grey stuff). The trick is to use a fine layer of green stuff on the dolly. Then, while still uncured, cover the green stuff with sculpey - the green stuff works as a bonding agent. Afterwards, you have all the time in the world to sculpt your mini.

Take a look over at minisculpture forum (sorry mods!). I personally use a clay called Uro, it's actually slightly sticky already so it's great for fiddly little bits.

I´ve found two great sites using sculpey as putty in miniature sculpting:

1st, the well known guys from Massive Voodoo: http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.com.br/2010/01/massive-voodoo-sculpting-tutorial.html. They have used the Sculpey Firm brand (gray stuff)

2nd I´ve found this blog a while ago and the Old School looks of the minis sculpted by Taylor are very cool:
http://atomtaylorsculpt.blogspot.com.br/. He uses the Sculpey III I think (beige color)

Anyway, I´ve personally tried both for sculpting minis, the sculpey firm and the regular one, and I think they are great for scenario and minor details but I still prefer kneadite or uro putty when it comes to figures. I believe It´s a matter of personal choice and how well you get using and sticking with one putty learning the secrets of manipulating them to achieve the desired sculpt.
