That Vulture Droid is impressive. I'd never clocked how big they are from the films.

Gorgeous! I remember finding the droid designs one of my favourite things in the prequel films, and this is one of the best ones. Absolutely gorgeous work :-*

Thanks everyone  :)

Slow progress recently, due to work pressures, but I’ve managed to finish another land speeder…this one is red, because as we all know “red ones go faster”

I’ve still got to paint the driver…think I’ll match them up with a standing figure as with the first one.

How good is that. Much better than mod cyborgs racing around with bejazzled mod scooters

Thanks mate - they are indeed the official Legion speeders.

Still have plenty of unofficial ones to paint as well  :D

Nice work.  Should the green dude be in the red one sense it goes faster.   ;)

First update for quite a while….work has been manic, but I’ve also had a trip the Galaxy’s edge (Disney Hollywood Studios Florida).

I’ll post separately on what I thought of it, along with some more detailed photos of Galaxies Edge itself, but for now a few quick thoughts on some of the goodies on offer….

I’m not going to cover the “build a light sabre” or “build a droid” …. If that’s your thing, be prepared for a wait/pre-book a slot, and have plenty of money  ;)

Best Buy
Land Speeder (on the left)
$12.99
Slightly different configuration from the Ep4 version, but in scale
Wish I’d bought a suit case of these now

N-1 Starfighter
$19.99
Perhaps a little small for Legion, but perfect for Stargrave minis. It’s a good option if you can’t get the AMT Snapfast (which I’ve included in the photo in yellow)

Playing Cards
Bit pricey at $30 for a block of 3 decks, but a must for card-based games

Sabacc
$19.99 a self-contained game, plus could be useful for counters/cards etc

Chance Dice
$9.99 for four dice…or you could just flip a coin?

As promised, here are some photos of the Galaxy's Edge zone of Disney Hollywood Studios, Florida.

A few thoughts...

- The set dressing is BEAUTIFUL...I love the detailing & have tried to give a feel for it in the photos below.  Understandably a lot of families were hurrying around, from ride to ride (or shop to shop), but I spent the bulk of my time just looking and taking it all in....and trying to take photos without people in them  lol

- The two "rides" - Rise of the Resistance & the Falcon are "ok rides", but "decent experiences"...Disney is most definitely about the "experience" rather than thrilling rides - for anyone familiar with other theme parks, the fact that the minimum height for these two is 40" and 38" tells you everything you need to know.  Will you feel like you are piloting a starship plunging into a Death Star trench...? No. But sit back and enjoy the show.  Of the two, Resistance is where they've spent the money & it shows...but surprisingly the ride is also really buggy with delays etc.

- The biggest criticism I'd have is that its not big enough...Disney have bought the most recognisable sci-fi franchise in the world, but the zone within the Hollywood Studios theme park is pretty small (IIRC this area used to be the Disaster Canyon ride?)...Star Wars could easily be a park in its own right (or at least a lot bigger). To be fair to Disney, they have packed a lot of background material, ships etc in the space they've got, but I hope they expand it further...you could easily add a Star Wars stunt show (along the lines of the Raiders of the Lost Ark show on the other side of the park), a more accessible Cantina experience, a blaster-type ride (along the lines of Universal's "Minion Blaster" or "Men In Black" rides etc etc

- If you go, don't forget to visit the Star tours ride which is in another park of the park...its been completely revamped and it arguably a better "ride" than either of the two new additions (although both are great experiences).

- I didn't go in the Cantina...its an actual bar, but you had to book ahead or be a Disney Dining Club member.

- Watch out for the wandering characters... Kylo Ren, First Order Troopers & Mando

My biggest take away is that I need more set dressing on my Star Wars terrain boards... good news for Oshiro, as another order will be inbound shortly  8)
