the new boy in the TARDIS...
« on: November 14, 2009, 01:10:36 PM »
well this fella was waiting in the post when I got home yesterday, and I got a bit obsessed/possessed and finished him off this morning...

Heresy's Nerdlord

I'm aware that in my OCD painting session he's possibly a bit rushed... I'm not 100% sure on the face, but then thinking about it, I'm not 100% sure on Matt Smith yet either, so I figured I'd let it grow on me...

I am very happy with the shirt colour as a match to the source and the suggestion of a weave on the jacket works, but the jacket is a bit too dark... may have a crack at another one in time...

and the trio from Heresy

My God - I hadn't realised that Heresy had done the boy already! Just when I thought I was putting my Who project to bed... I have a mini lined up for Amy too, but I figured I'd be waiting until the new year at least.

Brilliant, you've captured him perfectly - at least as far as the on-set photos go... Let's hope he turns out as good in reality. Tennant's clock is really counting down now...

I remember all the palaver when Donna was chosen to become the Doc's regular companion. "Oh, she's too shouty and Catherine Tait is just a comic who can't act" etc. She didn't turn out too badly, as I recall  lol

No 11 does look a bit odd, nerdy and young, but so far the "New-Who" casting has been nigh-on perfect, so I'm willing to have faith in their latest recruit.

As for the figure - he's spot-on and instantly recognizable as the new boy  :D

Great job! Wish I could paint that fast and well.

Not sure if the whoniverse needs the Doctor to be a bigger nerd than his fans but I'm sure he'll come up trumps tonight!

cheers guys...  :D

I'll admit I was a Donna naysayer... but she was the best of the new companions...

EDIT: I've redone the first pic, the face wasn't quite in focus... much happier with that now...
