WWII, Stuart Walker model
« on: October 10, 2007, 07:44:41 AM »
Hi Guys,

Well, I was asked recently about doing some master Gear Krieg models in 28mm.  The project sort of fell through for the moment.  But I do have this partially completed Stuart Walker. It's just the main body right now.

I designed the hull to take any of our Stuart Turrets. (we have 4 different Stuart model kits in 1/56 scale)  It will also accept both turrets from the Brigade Games FT-17's.   I thought I'd gauge interest, and see if folks would want this if I finish it up, add legs,  some different details, and perhaps bundle it with the turret from the M5A1 Stuart.

So, I might finish this off and with Brigade Games,  market them as a limited run model.  If there is a lot of interest, I might make this a universal set of parts.  So you can buy the Legs and extra turrets, and turn any of our tanks into a walker on your own.  Or somehow make a wierd war full kit to Market with Brigade Games.

If not, it will be turned into a Steam powered armored car for Gnome Wars (might do that anyway!)

Suggestions?  Thoughts?

well, a valkrie would be possible.  It's not an offical model though, so I'd have to make my own design.

This could be something where if I make the master, I go ahead and get casting costs and kit costs calculated, and once a minimum order number is reached, it goes into production.

Of course, I can always make my own molds, and cast a few myself, and we can work out a trade deal  8)

Agis, plese send the pics.  I'll finish up the legs this week so I can post more pics.

Very nice indeed! :D

I like scratchbuilding and converting but sometimes it's nice to a professional do the job!!!

If you do complete it you've got at least one customer!!!!!!

You and me both Agis!
If their's no interest, I wouldn't mind just the cast of the Hull and turret. I can do the legs myself!!!

I know its a personal preference thing, but I always feel that these ED209/Star Wars Walker inspired walkers look a little too modern.  I prefer something more retro like the SF3D/Machinenen Krieger stuff (the armoured suits rather than the walkers or flyers).
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

True, but Gear Krieg is IMO an exception.
The legs can be lowered and the secondary movement system comes into play.
The walkers in vehicle mode are even more WW2-ish looking then in walker mode.

Maybe I'm a bit late, but this hull looks sweet and has a lot of conversion potential, so I would be very interested, too. What's the status of this project now?
TANK POLO? God, how our gardener hated that game!
