Heads up guys.

http://www.heroquestclassic.com/en/

The latest post from July 16th indicates that an email will go out at the end of "March"(?) asking backers to log in to the Gamezone Miniatures page.  I guess each backer had an account created with Gamezone Miniatures, and you'll have a coupon for your Kickstarter buy in.  You'll then add whatever items you want (and additional?).  You pay shipping + any additional items you've added.

Not sure how it's going to work, but remember international backers get a coupon for their international shipping cost --- a coupon which can be applied to the Gamezone Miniatures store (in the future?).  Oddly you'll still be paying for shipping on that additional stuff but the Hero Quest box must be rather large because shipping is an arm and a leg at the moment for my current address in the States.

I like the 3D concepts I've seen, but at this point in the timeline they should be showing at least some basic miniatures and components, not just renders.  That being said I write off Kickstarter delivery dates so I'm not holding them to anything.  As long as I get a big box of goodies I'll be happy.  Curious to see how the Mantic Games KS holds up to this one (since they admittedly are aiming right at the Hero Quest idea).

Just out of interest (yet to do this myself) how much was postage calculated for you? I'm in New Zealand so am expecting it even more expensive I guess.

52 euros to the states.  The total package shipped (with all the add-ons etc.) will be $217 USD.

Not sure how much "stuff" 52 euros will get me on their shop.  Looks like many of the small add-on packs are 10-20 euros.

 :o

I can only hope mine will also be that amount.
Still the money going towards extras is quite cool. Do you know if it can be chucked in with the lot you paid postage on already?

No idea how it works.  I believe they're giving you 52 euros of store credit (why this can't be changed into free shipping I don't know...).  I think it works out because they'll be getting more business.  Either way it's better than nothing.  The game and its contents alone may well be worth the $220.  We shall see.

Yep, they've just made an official update here not yet in English.

In short:

- They're nearly done but can't make it in time for Christmas.
- They have published a progress indicator and they will be updating it often from now on:

From top to bottom:
- Core rules
- Heroic rules (advanced)
- Adventures

- Miniatures modelling
- Miniature production
- Scenery modelling
- Scenery production

- Illustrations
- Layout
- Printing
- Packing
- Shipping

Also, they will be posting videos explaining the key features of the rules.

It would be nice to see the progress though wouldn't it. Nearly all the minis have been made yet we've only seen a quarter. If that. I like that they are up front about the date having to be pushed back. I never thought that that date would be kept to myself. A bit too ambitious I think.

Wait, you mean this is actually still happening? I thought it was banned completely?

It's happening. They have everything in order, otherwise they would have been taken down by now.

But you know...

Yep, the entire project happened (so far) via a Spanish site similar to Kickstarter.

However they've been completely silent for months so no one is taking any bets on when the thing will actually ship.  Some bad translation made it a bit more confusing - in July they posted "...at the end of March we'll be sending emails...".  So that left a rather large question mark for most of us.

I am sad to say I've emailed them directly a few times with no response (was having issues accessing their site - eventually figured it out).

I've firmly filed this under "just wait and see if a box shows up some time in the next 24 months..." category.

There are some interesting topics on Board Games Geek regarding this. There are differing opinions as to whether it will actually happen or not and that Hasbro may be waiting for an actual physical product to use as evidence in any legal proceedings.
He that trades Liberty for Security will soon find that he has neither.

Some eye-candy. These are masters, not the finished product.
