Stargate
« on: July 24, 2017, 08:03:33 AM »
Wondered if anyone knows if there is an mdf model of the Stargate available? There was a picture of one on Pinterest today but I couldn't find any details about whether it was commercially available.

Thanks for any help!

I don't recall seeing one.

Studio Bergstrom does one in either metal, or resin (or used to), IIRC.  Looked quite nice.

There are a bunch available on thingiverse - search link, including a working one  lol

Not sure how much they'd cost to get printed, but 28mm won't be cheap  :(. Still, something else to consider

Battlesystems have a not-stargate as part of their printed cardboard sci fi scenery line. Flying Frog have some demonic looking almost-stargates in HIPS plastic in their "doorways into darkness" set for Shadows of Brimstone.

As photo bucket is acting up and I've yet to set up another photo host, I can only describe the two "Stargates" I have in resin .
The largest of the two has a outer diameter of 19.5cm iner diameter of about 13.5cm in white resin details on one side only.
The 2nd smaller one is in black resin/plastic outer diameter of 12cm iner dia of 8.5cm with again detailing on one side only,it comes with a platform 3cm high 7.5cm at the widest point, the design of the gate has a number of stairs up to the gate which slots into a gap in the platform.
Both where bought via eBay via I assume buyers with access to a 3Dprinters and the right file - cost about less than £10 each

There was an injection moulded BASE for the old 12" (or so) Stargate movie kit figures (I turned one into a terrain piece).

6" or so across the event horizon part of it.

This is the kit it came from:
