The latest additions are in matchstick so what sort of exclaimed acclaim will that bring?

Thanks all.

I did make some more progress, which was to add the vertical posts that retain the shuttering.

As an aside, I’ve been in Belgium and saw this street art in an underpass: a medieval Quar-like character:

And with the sand applied to the lower levels, to the bunker roof, and to raised areas for removable vehicle bridges.

Next up will be the sand to the main level and then assembly of the removable trench bridges

Thanks  :)

The tile is now fully sanded, with its texture being raised up to the level of the planks.

Go Steve Go! That's looking great, very mono grit, i assume you will be doing a few passes with more grit?

Did you consider staining/painting the wood work first before gluing into the trenches?
I always tie myself up in knots trying to work out which parts need to be pre done, then put in place or finished then have the struggle of painting corners.
What is your approach Steve?

Cheers
Matt

Thanks all  :)

In reply to the questions:

I’ve moved away from hilly boards to flat boards, as I now tend to place terrain on top, which means I can use the board for multi periods. So the grit is very mono indeed, for a level surface that can take extra decor in the form of trees, buildings and even hills.

One thing I really dislike doing, whether minis or terrain, is prepainting. Obvs I planned out the terrain but I enjoy a more organic build process. I think that if I prepainted, I’d never finish. That said, these tiles are pretty simple so I don’t expect any issues with painting.

Thanks Steve, that makes a lot of sense thanks for the reply.
I still love your boer board with train line and bridge. I want to make something like that some time.

I look forward to seeing it with some scatter :)

Oh gawd, now I do have to make scatter lol

I’ve previously mentioned trench bridges, and these are them …..removable for most games but essential for those involving light tractors as otherwise they wouldn’t be able to cross.

Ps: The woodwork to the trench shuttering and bridges has yet to be painted
