More VSF Fun
« on: August 21, 2023, 05:56:05 PM »
We had a play around with some VSF adaptations to The Men Who Would Be Kings the other day, set around the 1899 Great Steam War in the Balkans. A full write up on the blog  https://grahamsgaming.blogspot.com/2023/08/vsf-1899-balkans-war.html

I'm reminded of seeing someone riding a classic BMW, similar to one I had in younger days, and saying, 'If I had that, and he had a feather up his [bum], we'd both be tickled...'

I'm long past motorcycle riding, but I can get the odd game in every few months, still, feeling a bit green with envy.

Are those three-wheeled RAFM tanks? Can't tell for sure.
Edit: Nevermind, just had a look at a piccie I posted a bit ago. Not the same.

Having played plenty of wars in Africa, India, Mars, the strange continent of Randistan, and western Europe, I've always kicked myself for not getting my central 'Secret Wars' going.

Well done! *tinged with bitterness*

Great stuff! Always good to see some steam tech!

Thank you for the comments, gentlemen.

Doug - both the 3-wheeled cars and one of the tanks is by Ironclad, the other tank comes from Ranshackle (I need to add a longer smokestack to that).

Your comments remind me that I had been looking at various people's efforts on Mars with envy myself, wishing I'd made the effort to build a couple of armies (but not ever getting around to doing so). Then I thought to myself "What about my Balkans War stuff?"!!!!!

Top notch game there Old Fellow!

Especially like the Ironclad robot infantry have a gaggle of those myself, Ironclad is one of my favourite figure suppliers…
