I would say B.

Just looks more finished...

I would consider a mixture of the two for a bit more variety, although the puttees on B do look good.
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

I think the legs in A look weird because they puff out over the boots... look a bit wonky. So I'm shaving the puff down a bit.

Thanks for the input :)

Yeah that sounds like a considered change to make. Good.

A mix would be good, I agree as well. I just prefer B from the photos.

Which do you think works better? A or B? Neither? I would appreciate any suggestions :)

Deffo B.

I'm biased though as my BUF regulars are all of that type so I can use ranges of early WWII/late WWI for them,
and later WW2 (with the short puttees) as Loyalist and Anglican regulars with the main difference being the main colours of the paint job.

I don't think gaiters go with breeches well

Just a small update...

I ordered some Empress Colonial heads (for the caps as well as helmets for police) but unfortunately they don't fit the WF Colonial bodies! It was always going to be a bit of a stretch...

Anyway, instead I've ordered all the BUF from Musketeer  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Great work!
Yearly painting challenges only show me how useless I am at painting...

Those BUF lads seem to be getting quite popular...

It's just down to the uniform isn't it...  :-[

I just like the idea of miniatures that wear mostly black ;) I haven't received them yet but I have tallied up some interesting figures from Thrilling Tales and Anglian/Empress to use... and some Pulp Figures.

I have a few things to contend with (like an exam in a few days!) but I can't wait to get cracking on this.

I've barely picked up any paints for weeks! :'(

I wish it was Christmas Holidays again  lol
