For the record, please read my original post.  I stated "feminine".  Feminine does not automatically equate to physical beauty.  Please excuse me if I used incorrect vocabulary.  English is my third language.

I like the figure and will purchase one in my next order.

As I understand it from Annie's description of the figure on her website, the figure comes in two pieces. Based on the pics of the green, I'm guessing the second piece is the shield. It appears in the pic provided in this post, the shield is mounted as a center grip, which is not the usual method of holding a heater shield. It appears from the green that the shield could be mounted with a more traditional strapping.

Very few metal figures are in what I would consider an accurate pose based on my 25 years of using a sword and shield in the Society for Creative Anachronism, so I always bend them to suit. (It's another reason I really like plastics! :D)

In short, as with all products, it is ultimately the buyers choice. As for its posting in Medieval Adventures, there are historical examples of female fighters and therefore is IMHO perfectly appropriate. (But I would also post it in the Fantasy and especially the Frostgrave boards.)

Lovely looking figure and heads, I don't have a medieval army but I'll still buy one just to paint up.

Exactly, it's my fault for putting the shield like that. I have no idea what the historically accurate configuration of the straps or handles were, I just went with the idea of a vertical strap on the inside of the shield and positioned it accordingly to the bunched fist of the left hand (you can even leave off the shield completely if you want).

No you were quite correct, feminine does not necessarily imply beauty and indeed men can be feminine and women masculine in the same context.

Cubs' painting is SUPERB!  ;D

An example of strapping a shield may be found here:http://www.yeoldegaffers.com/project_shield.asp
