I’m not making much project-specific terrain but for me trenches are a must have, so I’ve started on a 61cm x 61cm board which uses a pre-stretched canvas as the frame, infilled with extruded polystyrene sheet.

It will butt up to my other 120cm x 60cm terrain boards for more depth, but if it works out as well as I’d like I’ll make another for a 122cm wide length of trench (or two 61s opposite each other).

There’ll be planking to the trench walls with an earthen floor, and a bunker with removable roof. The shell craters won’t have mounded sides so I can have the option of placing tree and house bases, etc, over them.

In the meantime, I’ve also just about finished assembling the first 6 Royalists.

That looks cool, nice idea with the craters and being able to place terrain over them.

Great start to the trench board.   Sounds like it’s going to be a very pretty game.  😀

 Thanks all, much appreciated :)

I’ve raised the height of the area between the trenches and added the basics of the shuttering plus the roof for the bunker; the vertical retaining posts will likely go in tomorrow.

Great progress on the trenches.  I appreciate the WIP pics as I’m planning my own trench table for Quar and it’s nice to see how others get it done.  😀

Looks like a great start of the table, I've always wanted a trench table myself but never gotten around to making one.

Thanks all

I like the removable roof for the bunker.

I can’t claim originality for that, amongst the older WW1 threads there are inspirational examples by both Captain Blood and Sydney Roundwood. ;)
