Our group is going to play our first game with this venerable set of rules and I'm working on setting up a scenario. I notice the measurements are in centimeters but we Americans want to use inches. Stubborn lot, we are, yes.
So I divided the ranges by half as 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters. OK so even with that something like a helicopter firing a TOW missile shoots 90 some inches. Yikes. That's our whole table and more width wise and almost the full length of it too.
I am setting up a scenario in the Iran-Iraq war. Yes, that's an extreme example but even tanks can shoot 75, 65 inches and we are using 3mm miniatures.
It all seems a bit too much.
Any one of you who have played these rules, do you tone down the ranges some or play it as is?
