Salute Vendors - Frustrating!!
« on: April 03, 2024, 03:59:04 PM »
Mini rant incoming!!

Over the past 3 or so weeks I've emailed a few Salute vendors through their official 'Contact Us' pages regarding pre-orders for pick up at Salute.  I got the automated, 'Thank you for contacting us' email, but so far only one has got back to me.  Do they want my business or not?  In these lean times I would think that they would but apparently not.

These are not one-man band Vendors either but large commercial entities.

Apologies, rant over.

Yes, that would be frustrating.
They could be missing out on sales.
Hopefully they will reply soon or give them
a call. I have always had good luck calling rather than writing.

I certainly would if I lived in the UK, but not really practical from Canada.

I don't know. I live in the US and I have called companies in the UK.

I've called a UK vendor from Thailand, for that matter.

I've had a couple of no replies but most people have been very helpful. My main problem has been keeping track of the various payment methods different vendors prefer: pre-payment online with a "Collect at Show" option; the same  with postage refund on the day; separate Paypal invoice; or just cash at the stand. Many people take a wishlist of stuff to Salute - I have to take a list of orders I have and haven't already paid for!

Also beware that many vendors have deadlines for pre-show orders too close to the big day. Several traders I've come across won't accept any after this weekend.

Good luck,
Peter
