One of the chaps , Chris , invited four of us up to play Chain of Command last week . The table and forces plus supports were already chosen and set up by him . It featured an early war USMC platoon defending against two Japanese platoons attacking down the length of the table . The marines had a 30 calibre machine gun in place and hidden , plus a squad defending a hooch , everything else had to throw to come on . The marines had only one Senior Leader and we elected to keep him off table to assist in bringing on the squads . The marines had BAR teams but no mmg,s in their squads which left them at a disadvantage in the firefights . The Japanese mortar squad proved to be surprisingly effective, 3 x mortars throwing 6x dice at a time . The Japanese brought on one of their light tanks which the marines managed to stop with an ambush using a bazoka team . The tank , however , kept firing and eventually routed the squad defending the hooch . Pics to follow , upside down ones , of course 😎 .
