  • The Older I get the better I was.. . . .
Good evening all, My Old West project is actually making a bit of progress but as it says above I need some help with some bespoke signage as well as the ready laser cut and printed signs I wanted to put a bit of myself into my town. Sarissa sell an Old West stencil which I assume is used to draw the lettering onto the surface and painted accordingly but it only has one size of letter of about 10mm I think. Ready printed are good but lack the personal touch and my computer skills leave an awful lot to be desired unless there's an Idiot Proof way of printing your own signs. Finally Free hand is a bit out of the scope of my very limited artistic skills so as has been said Any tips, tricks and Advice would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks in advance
JB

Dig up some old style fonts for your word processing software- easy to install and usually free.  Even Word can handle 6pt fonts which you can print out on your inkjet printer. Wingdings for accenting marks.

Clip art books of victorian or western images that you can photocopy from to resize is another alternative.  Back in the day such books were common in art departments but the layouts were bigger than even a 28mm sign might use.
