Undead was my first GW army and I still have a soft spot for it. I was lucky to find someone selling off a whole bunch of old 90's undead minis which has now managed to make my army almost a complete set of the undead army book minis (and some extras) While my painting take forever to complete (too many hobbies) I do work away at them, and when the muse hits I seem to get a load done.
This might have been part of my first GW boxed set too. I bought the GW skeleton army box many, many years ago and vividly remember getting it because I was probably about 13, just started to notice pretty girls and at my Mum's work she made me show the very pretty secretary the geeky skeletons I had just bought. Mortifying.
Anyway, I found these in a small container and realised they were in dire need of a repaint. So a quick spray of skeleton bone, some highlights and then a wash got the bone done. The weapons I just did with Reaper's rust triad paints and I think works well with them, despite the fact the shileds should probably be wood, along with the spear hafts.
As you can see some of the minis have seen better days too. My brother took to one with superglue to give it a gooey look and some of the weapons are broken too. I was surprised I still had this many left. To be honest I'm looking for more at a cheap price now, putting these together as a kid was quite fun as the kits were perfect for posing them whichever way you wanted.
I have a bunch of wights painted up already and some primed, so they might be the next on the list. There are also doubles of every zombie except 1, 1 of each wraith, 1 of each mummy (and an extra with the flail) and all the ghouls too plusI thing I have each of the special characters minus the special vampires. And my zombie dragon had a proxy rider but I bought the wight lord to go atop it, although I don't think I have the legs. Hopefully facebook groups can be my friend there.
