16th and 17th Century Spanish
« on: February 27, 2012, 12:09:58 AM »
Expanding my large skirmish/small raid forces for Spanish versus "Natives"  (Moros, Noth American SouthWest and SouthEast Indians,) in the late 1500's thru about 1699 and looking for more figures.  I have some Foundry Elizabethean Spanish (close enough for early period.)

Need some ideas for figures for later in the periods - raids from and to Sulu/Brunei mostly, Pueblo revolt is covered (I have many Soldaos de Cuera,) and I am thinking they could double for SouthWest exploration/doomed settlements in Florida and the SouthEast - I am using later period Mexican civilians for now for charges to be protected.

My research shows fashion in Europe changes slowly until French fashions begin to supplant Spanish Fashion with the rise of the Sun King but I am unsure when (if) European in military fashion would affect styles in the Spanish colonies.

Once we get into the California Mission period I have Presidials to chase horse thieves and run-aways  (and Zorro!)

Suggesstions?

Gracias,

Glenn

I dont think you could go wrong with using the Eureka Portuguese as colonists in rag tag order, they will fit in well with the Foundry Swashbucklers too
