Let me clarify that title.
I like 15mm. I'm used to 15mm, Hell, i even sculpt 15mm.
So when i say these are small, Believe me they are SMALL!!!
Anyway....
I have admired white dragons stuff for a while and whilst working at salute i dutifully abandoned my post to drop £50 on a bag full of micro scale goodness.
I have 15 troopers of various types, 4 heavy armoured chaps and one lovely big mech with a rail rifle.
(i also picked up one of the big hab block terrain pieces.)
My plan is to get these guys painted up and hopefully play a couple of small games of warpath firefight with them once done.

As always, all C&C is welcome! I hope to get these done as they really are too pretty to languish in my to do pile! :)

Got some shots with them alongside other manufacturers' figs so we can get an idea of just how small they are?

Very well!
HEre they are next too two of my own sculpts, which are exactly 1:100 scale , and two ral partha demonworld 15mm figures, which vary in height a bit so i went with the tallest and smallest i had on the shelf.

As if we doubted you... :D
Small, but damn pretty!
Looking forward to some battle images!

Looking good! Small but very pretty and loaded with detail. I've just ordered some of the 'wounded' troopers and the two carrying comrades are exquisite. I'll be watching this space...

They might tempt me back to scifi skirmish. ;)

I'd be tempted too if i had ever given up...
I put together the mech just to get a feel of it.

The infantry look good, but that mech is nice!
Is that a rail gun?

It is according to the packaging.
painted up the squad leader and did some batch colour work on the other members of the squad.
Also did some work on the bases , nothing major since i want them on the table and not to languish in my paint pile.

Very, Nice!!!
You are right. They are very small but beautifully sculpted and cast well.
Consider me subscribed :D

Gnomes in space small?
Now I find 3mm infantry small and challenging to paint. As much as what I do can be called painting. Worth it but challenging.
-
Very nicely painted figures and you've weathered and highlighted them beautifully.
I'm regretting not picking up a few at Salute, but it was good to see the models in real life and they look just as good as they do on their website. Their buildings are also very cool.
-
Cheers chaps!
I started work on the base for the proteus mech last night. I want to go for an overgrown city ruin look.
I also finished the actual painting on the squad (minus a couple of post varnish highlights.) and can start basing them before moving on to the next squad.

The smallness continues.
I have just finished up the bases of the first 6 man fire team.

And here they all are together!

(you'll have to excuse the slowly degrading photo quality, there isn't enough light in the universe to satisfy my phone camera, and the university aren't gonna let me use the 5k to snap some miniatures.
I'm now looking at what sort of table I want to build for these guys.I have a few ideas for some nice space port style terrain.
Also looking for any rules suggestions for a nice handful sized firefight game.
I'm thinking the new warpath firefight rules, rogue stars or double tap from one hour wargames. I also considered laserburn.
I'd appreciate any help on the subject. :)

Great stuff :)
Is the table to be Earth based or somewhere else?
cheers

Looking absolutely awesome Nic-e!!! Definitely looking forward to seeing your brushwork on the Proteus.
As for the rulesets you mentioned, Gruntz is always brought up to be an entertaining game so I'd suggest giving it a once over.
I recently made a bit of a display board for Salute with a piece of our MTU concept art in mind if it's any inspiration for your future game board:

Below photos of the board and my minis shamelessly stole from GMorts Chaotica blog (http://gmortschaotica.blogspot.co.uk). All the bits on there are from us at WDM

So aye, keep it up Nic-e! Can't wait to see your expanding 15mm force :)

Cheers for the kind words everyone!
I'm going to start on the talos suits now alongside the proteus.
Great stuff :)

I'm going to go with a busy industrial space port for small cargo loaders to help send cargo and goods to ships in low orbit.
Planet wise I don't think it'll matter too much! ;)

Hey overwatch, it was good speaking to you at salute!
(I'm the chap from dark sphere who ran up during pack up to buy a hab block from your van.)
I plan on stealing the dimensions of your display board to use as a nice 15mm skirmish board I can also fit in the wardrobe.

Managed to get all the painting done on a second fireteam.
I decided that rather than paint all the infantry as members of the same army and end up never using them all at once, I'd paint them as seperate teams and give myself more freedom to run them as separate forces.
This team i have painted up with a more privateer/corporate security/merc squad look in mind.

We had a couple of micro art wall sections kicking around at work that had been damaged in shipping so I took one to paint up as a photography background. The lightbox I'm using is just too harsh for anything smaller than 28mm so hopefully this will serve a little better once i get a daylight bulb.
In non figure news, I have gathered materials for my gaming board. IT's going to be composed of 4 1x1 tiles made from 3 mm plasticard mounted onto cork tiles. This gives me something very thin and lite i can easily store, while still being resilient enough to avoid warping.

They are nice.
What base size are you using?

Great thread. I've been eyeing up the White Dragon minis stuff for ages. I've got 2 squads from Armies Army completed a while ago and busy now with terrain.
Have you decided on a ruleset? I bought FiveCore skirmish on whim a while back and I really like it. I play solo and it gives short, sharp, fun games. Not sure how it would handle the large mechs though.

I fully recommend buying some, they're the best 15mm sci fi I've seen to date.
I'm going with one page rules double tap for now as it's simple and shoert enough for me and someone else to play in an afternoon and open enough that i can model anything i want without it messing with the mechanics.
