Hi just wondered if anybody has an idea for Chinese or Russian soldiers in GREAT COATS. I post it here under Pulp because I am not looking for "great coats", but something thicker (sort of Neo-Soviet style) with thick fur collars and caps and long coats (a little bit like the one top right but with even longer and thicker coats...

I had a look at the usual WWII ranges but the coats are just not thick and "pulp-stylish" enough. I hope you know what I mean!?!? I want to use them in a Pulp Adventure that is set in the arctic region
Any ideas anyone.

Did you look at the front end of the pulp figures site. I am sure the WIP page shows artic explorer types.

Battle Honors makes quite a few Soviets in greatcoats (28mm scale) - Some in fur hats and some in helmets. Here are a couple waiting to be painted:

I fail to understand why BH doesn't post pics of their figs on their cataolgue...

For arctic regions I do recommend:
1.- WestWind range "Yeti"

some of their gentlemen may also fit the term "greatcoat"

4.- Copplestone with arctic explorers-already mentioned- Inuits and Siberian rifles in greatcoat.

6.- and ofcourse various mountain troops or winter uniforms figures of WW1& WW2 era by West Wind, Brigade games, BAM etc etc
Germans and Soviets.
7.- moderns/Falkland war figures like Mo-Fo range etc

Thanks...but I find them too nice. I was thinking more in the direction of

But the shoulder pads are too warhammer 40k-ish. All the WW2 stuff is nice and I already have the Siberian rifles, but they are laking a "puilp-ish really tough guys" look. The are too realistic... what is of course very nice, and I really like them, but I was looking for something with an edge!
Thanks for your ideas, the yeti hunters etc are very nice, not what I was looking for but as usual people on this forum have some great ideas and trigger some good ideas

Even though it is from the "...." company, a few head and gun swaps here and there...and voila, should do it

I had thought of them. I have a platoon. I didn't think they would be any use for pulp games.
I don't fancy trying to do weapon swaps on them as all of the weapons are very close to the bodies and very recognisable as GW laz guns. I not sure if GW still make them you will need to try evilbay.

..you are right with that of course, but then if I would want historically correct figures I would go for the ones recommended above (and I have a bunch of russians, chinese etc etc)
But hey it is a game...so I'll give it a try

They are in great coats and already have seperate heads. The guns are more square in shape which would make them easier to remove too. Plus, they're readily available. They even do some heads in furry hats.
