Title: Good morning from Buckinghamshire!
Post by: ZoeM on May 03, 2017, 08:05:44 AM
Hi everyone!

I found this forum after looking for Frostgrave resources, and have lurked for a while now. I thought I'd step in out of the cold and say hello before I go on my next treasure hunting fact finding mission :)

I love the atmosphere here, and I'm looking forward to staying a while - who knows, I might even post something once in a while!

Hello!

It's nice and civilised here isn't it? A refreshing change from most of the net.

I used to live in Bucks. Lovely part of the world.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

It certainly is a refreshing change; I'm definitely looking forward to spending some time here!

Greetings from Nebraska, if a bit belated...  ::)

Definitely love the atmosphere here, as well.

Haven't succumbed to the Frostgrave bug myself, but not for lack of the locals suggestions.

Whereabouts in Bucks are you? There has been a bit of interest in Frostgrave at the Tring Wargames Club (just over the Herefordshire border), we will probably be starting a club league/campaign later in the year.

Aylesbury-ish, so not too far away...

In that case, I might have to get a couple of models painted (or at least assembled)!

Does that mean we could possibly expect some more Frostgrave eye candy over here soon?  :D

Welcome btw!

Possibly... Although my painting speed is best described as "glacial"!

Never mind, I am not the fastest painter too and many others here neither. Take your time and make sure to show the results if you please.

That's a coincidence, I'm in Aylesbury. I'll let you know when the Frostgrave league gets underway and if you fancy popping over to the Tring club, you would be most welcome.

So far, none of us are using the official models, most of us have a collection of fantasy and historical figures to use, or else are going for something a bit different, like a Victorian setting.

I might just pop down one day to say hello!

It's been a long time since I painted or played anything, so I don't actually even have any models at the moment, but I'm planning on changing that if I ever get some free time! Frostgrave grabbed my attention initially as writing inspiration, but it's slowly dragging me back to the idea of gaming too ::)

Not sure what models to go for yet, but I do like the look of the new Northstar dwarves...

I spent a year working at Stoke Mandeville a couple of years back, and I've only just realised that there were LAFers nearby  :o

Welcome anyway!

Stoke was where my daughter was born. Spent two weeks with wife and daughter in. A load of the Indo-China war figures were sculpted in the special care unit at Stoke;).

Of all the hospitals I've worked in, the rehab units at Stoke Mandeville are the most inspiring.

Away for a week, and I miss all the excitement: ::)

My wife used to work in the labs at Stoke Mandeville, but she's in Wycombe now after they merged labs across the two sites.

@Paul, they do have some good special care units there, but I didn't realise they'd supported our little hobby as well  ;)
