Title: Anyone do Frogmen / Divers in 28mm?
Post by: Trysop on March 12, 2009, 01:01:10 PM
Hello,

I have been hunting about for 28mm Frogmen but cannot find any :(

Does anyone know of any companies that make them?

I am not sure which forum is best to put this onto so if you think it might be answered better elsewhere please let me know.

Thanks

I can only think of deep seas divers at the moment, no frogmen, although someone from the States I think was discussing producing some himself last year. Check back through the Pulp boards or Other Adventures  and you might find a link.

Hello,

The only Frog men I have found are the Eureka NATO ones here:

http://eurekamin.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=1868

Which, whilst nice, are not what I want.

I am looking for the flippers and wetsuit look

Thanks for the tip Malamute, I will have a dig and see if I find anything.

Thanks

Some frogmen are in Eureka's ranges:

Deep Sea Divers:
HLBS (I don't know whether still available)
Scheltrum
Brigade fames
a new Reaper mini
and Reviresco (Nemo type divers)
I do not know whether these are suitable for your purpose.

argsilverson, thanks for the links, I have added a few more bits to my wants list. You can never have enough deep sea divers!

Froggy, he looks great :-* I just hope they bring out a few more varients. Reaper is greatf or individual minis, but not so hot if you want a squad of something. But he is still very, very nice.

cheers fellas

Send Mark Copplestone an e-mail.  Surely frogmen should be a de rigeur requirement for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang?  Getting onto the villain's yacht?  Sneaking into the enemy base (hidden on a tropical island under the big volcano)?  Underwater fights with the enemy's frogmen / sharks / octopi etc.

Every James Bond film seems to have frogmen / underwater encounters so surely must fit with the genre?

Yes a good idea!
Not to mention those Japanese divers, and the relative other females with or without scuba diving suits

plus Ursula !!!!!

I know I'm reviving a sleeping thread (sorry) but I've got two Reaper Chronoscope scuba divers that I'm about to paint up.

They are wearing standard scuba tanks (guy has two, woman has one), with the standard items dangling off them - two breathers (one in mouth), and a dive computer.

Guy has a speargun, girl has a knife.  They look like they are wearing a bikini and shorts, not a wetsuit, and there is no BC vest.  There are small dive weights on their belts and both are wearing wide, if slightly short flippers that remind me a little bit of the US Navy's flippers (that I used to wear with combat boots...).  The figures are pretty good, though as a diver myself, the lack of a BC bothers me.

And she could pass as Ursula....

Also, Reaper Chronoscope does a Navy SEAL diver, who is a guy in a wetsuit who just removed his flippers (still wearing his mask) and is hunched over, creeping along, weapon ready with the fins dangling from his front hand.  There is only one such mini in their lineup, though (as far as I know).  A whole boat crew would have been cool.

Here's my Reaper Navy Seals:

These are cracking minis and I have fancied the other scuba divers for a while.

yep... I'd love some post-scuba, gear dumped save for weapons...

And don't forget the Infinity Imandinhos if you're looking for sci-fi divers:
