This is my take on the noble vampires for IHMN. I finally get my hands on a copy o Gothic and I love it.
I created some little background to fit the miniatures I´m using.
Noble vampires of house Solt (read: Sholt)
The Solt family is part of transylvanias high nobility. They reign over the eastern part of the empire
and are one of the most important families. The Solts can call up a small army of retainers,
which are mostly former soldiers and skilled in combat. Most of them bring marksmen skills to a fight,
which delivers usable ranged combat ability and on the other hand guarantees that they don´t stumble
between a vampire and its prey. Hence they are indispensable for the countess.
The most known vampire of the family is Count Laszlo Solt. He is one of the oldest vampires
to serve the countess Bathory. His fightingt skills and combat experience are nearly unmatched.
But through centuries of bloodshed the count. became more and more mentaly unstable.
Through bloodlust and favor for brutal fights his once human appearence has more and more become
that of a creature even the vampires try to avoid. In the past he was a master with the sword,
elegant, skillful and unmatched. Some might say there was even beauty in how he fought,
but thats all gone now. All that is left is a wild beast, rampaging through the battlefields.
Once unleashed there is no stopping him, until he tore everything apart, that was dumb enough to stand in his way.
While most vampires can switch between human and bat,
the count usually appears in a monstrous form, a hybrid between human and bat.
Most vampires think that his appearence gives him the best abilities out of the human and the bat form.
But this too is the reason why so many other noblemen dislike the count.
However the part of him that is still human has developed many ways in covering his destructive trail.
In most cases werewolf packs are held responsible for his actions.
Every proof of vampire activity would be carefully removed or covered by his thralls.
Trough Laszlos mental condition, countess Bathory decidet to put the leadership of house Solt
in the hands of his grandson Victor Solt. The count never showed much interest in politics
so this came in his favor. To regain some of his sanity the count often sleeps for decades in his crypt
only to be woken up if needed. So house Solt is probably the only noble vampire family ruled by a lesser vampire.
Victor Solt is Laszlos most hated grandson but like him, in his younger years, a great combatant.
He still believes in the old ways of chivalry, honor and the art of swordfight.
His less impulsive nature and great sense for politics and warfare led him to the position of leading house Solt.
Tough his grandfather sees much weakness in his believe in honorable fighting and political fate.
They both dislike each other very much because they appear to be the exact opposite of each other.
Through all the differences within the family both the Count and his grandson know how valuable they each are
for the expansion of the dark empire of countess Bathory.
At first Victor Solt:

A loyal Thrall:

I think the lesser vampire will go without any powers, maybe clouding mens mind.
The cound will go with Flying, Beastmaster, Terrifying and Repulse. They got damn expensive very fast... :D
The wolfes are way to big but the only sculptes out there that I really like.
Hope you enjoy :)

What a marvellous write up!
I do love when a story can be woven through a company :)
May I ask where you obtained the figures for both Victor and Laszlo? Btw, did you paint Victor? It is a beautiful job!

These are GW fenrisian wolves. I bought 2 single miniatures cheap on ebay.
They are huge so they maybe represent wargs much better. I think they are based on 40mm bases.
But they are the only GW sculpts I like from their range and are the coolest and most dynamic
wolf sculpts out there so I dont mind the size^^
cheers

Well, that explains why I did not recognise them.
I have not been to up to date with GW stuff until quite recently.
One of them would work for my uses so I shall have to see if there is single one available somewhere.
Thanks!
