Having spilled the beans on my first kill team, I thought it would be a good idea to document all the different teams I'm planning in my own thread.
So here's the first team; Chaos Space Marines. I've themed them as a small squad of Khornate berzerkers who either have no need for cultists, or who have already slaughtered them on the trip over (and who's going to ask them, right?)
They're based on the awesome Dark Vengeance CSM. But since those are all generic chaos marines, I had to make them more corny Khorny.
So there was a lot of cutting and resculpting involved. The heads are the easiest clue to their allegiance; bunny ears for (almost) everyone! Then I shaved off a lot of chaos stars and replaced them with Khorne icons. The stylized Khornate skull was sculpted onto everyone's right shoulderplate and the leader got a sculpted chestplate as well (which is still very WIP btw).
Some weapon swaps later and all I have left to do is finish up the champion's chest, add rivets everywhere and wait for a bunch of 32mm bases to come in. And then it'll be time for painting!

Yes, those look very nice. The dark vengeance models are pretty nice.
Funny Shadow Wars really seems to be making an impression, I hope this translates into more from GW.

Nice conversions, I look forward to seeing them painted.

Nice work. I want to see them painted.

Cool stuff, can't wait to run circles around them with my harlequins :D

Thanks guys! :)

Your clowns can run in circles, but they'll only die dizzy... ;D
A small bit of progress.
I've managed to finish the sculpting of the leader's chestplate. Only a small bit of filing will be required, and then the adding of some rivets. He'll need some tarting up of his shoulderpad, left glove and plasmapistol before that stage though...

And some gap filling on his left shoulderpad too I just noticed... ::)
And please ignore the piece of static grass on his cape. I flocked an entire regiment of Night Goblins this week and the rotten stuff got everywhere again. Had to vacuum the desk, but apparently another, more thorough round is in order.
Static grass; it's like the glitter of miniature gaming... lol

Nice conversions and sculpting. I lol'ed at the "glitter of miniature gaming" comment.

That is brilliant.

Very nicely converted figures and a very tidy job on the sculpting. Looking forward to seeing them painted.
I find that wipes are great for cleaning up after using static grass, a surprise discovery after having a small human (also brilliant for household dusting tasks!).
