Bloody hell both are so good :-*

I saw the matchup and said to myself, "THIS will be good...!" And gentlemen, you did not disappoint. These are works of art -- not gaming pieces! :o :-* Both of you are masters of shading...

Oh Captain my Captain! Well done, great painting and composition. You did these wonderfull Footsore Miniatures justice. The only miniature I can not identify is the hornblower in the front rank. Is he from Gripping Beast?
Cheers

Hi Jan.
This is a great Footsore vs Footsore round 8)
I sincerely thought this would be very close. Don't really understand the voting imbalance :?
Wonderful job on those Irish. I think you have persuaded me to make them my next project!
The hornblower is by Drabant Miniatures. They are VERY nice figures and scale in perfectly with Footsore. I think he's actually a Saxon or Viking or something, but I thought he'd make quite a suitable late Romano-Celtic type...

Wow. Just wow.
These are so depressingly good :D
I was thinking of getting some of the Footsore Romans, but I'll never be able to them justice now.

Gorgeous work lads :-* The painting looks to me about equal, I think the Captain's composition is a bit more dramatic so that swung my vote.
This has given me the itch to do some Dark Ages, inspirational stuff. 8)

It would have been interesting to see Hazel's 'Ave Dux' from round 6 paired with 'The Last Legion' from this match. Heads would have been exploding!
Spectacular entries guys. Well done.
-
Just brilliant! So hard to pick a winner.
-
I have to feel sorry for the poor bloke on the left in the lower photo, he's getting the shaft of an axe straight in his left eye. That's going to smart a bit. :D So very hard to pick a winner on this one. It's almost toss a coin time.

Yeah - don't think I'd be faring anywhere near so well against that one. I have been lucky in the draw for sure.
I have much more of the same lined up for the next couple of weeks by the way :)

I think the problem is we only have 1 vote. If you gave us 2 we could split them equally lol
Both are fantastic entries, not sure what shaded my vote to the Captain but possibly that initial impact on the eye.

Heck yeah dark ages in all it's glory and what a match up!! :-* :-*
@Captain Blood
Absolutely stunning Arthurian composition!! I love everything about it to include the scene and painting! :o
@Lt. Hazel
Once again an excellent display of your fantastic dark age collections! :-*
