Title: Tsurube Otoshi (wip)
Post by: Juxt on 19 May 2017, 06:41:09 PM
A while ago I found an old Alan Perry (?) sculpted giant head in my bits box, a brilliant characterful sculpt, but I didn't know what to do with it, until last week when I stumbled across another Perry sculpt- an injured or dead samurai.  The bells went off in my head, ding ding ding, idea! A tsurube otoshi!  A giant disembodied head that waits in the top of tall pine trees for unwary travellers to pass underneath, at which point it drops suddenly to the ground, squashing the poor pedestrian to death, perhaps eating them, perhaps just killing for fun.

A bit of putty to fill out the neck area and a splash of paint later and I've hit a stumbling block- does he need eyebrows?  I've never painted eyebrows on a mini before, but I've also never worked on one large enough to warrant them.  What do you guys think? Should I attempt to add eyebrows to this fugly mug?

The only rule broken was having a manji on the shashimono. Hopefully Juxt will re-take the picture again with a small piece of paper over the manji (he doesn't have any editing software).

It's a great idea and hopefully we'll see it again soon  :)

cheers
