I ran the first convention playtest version of the game on Saturday night. We had 6 players and about 2x as many onlookers throughout the game.
The rules ran very smoothly, I have decided to modify a few things after this run but the core mechanics seem to work well. Everyone loved the models. And I expect everyone will want a Brute in their gang squad once they see the mayhem he can cause.
There was much mayhem and carnage as well as a few not-so-surprised surprises.
Anyway, please excuse the not very well-done game board. This was originally to be run by someone else who disappeared a couple of months before the con, and I didn't have the time to put together a really good display.

A shot of the 318th National Defense Force (one of many military units now operating independently). A Man in Black also accompanies them. These were painted by John Newman in about 3 days (there were about 30 of them).

Luckily the Brute is there to lend a well-muscled hand.

Great to see them painted up. Looks like a great fun game with fantastic imagery.

They painted up really well Paul.
I received a lot of comments that were basically, "Paul is becoming my favorite sculptor. His figures are great to paint up."

How big is a AC57 Gaming Board ?
I think of making one with a drive inn cinema a diner and a motel.
Is the terrain more waist land desert or normal ?
cheers Grimm

Drive In cinema? Brilliant idea for a board, Grimm! I used to love the Drive In as a kid!
Unfortunately, there aren't any up and running in driving distance of where I live (well, not within reasonable distance), but they are building new ones on the East Coast now, so who knows?
Rich, these are awesome shots. Any idea on a release date yet?

Rules will be out in July for Historicon.

Probably won't make H-Con this year but will definitely order them online as soon as they are available.

I'm imagining desert/highway board with loads of very quick and easy to make stone stacks, cliffs, cactus, tumbleweed, a diner, outhouse, garage and motel. Some great O scale buildings out there currently, wicked motel I've seen and classic alumi diner card.
Could be a very nice little game...MUST RESIST!!!

If you are going to be using vehicles, I would do at least 4 ft. x 6 ft. Vehicles can cover about 20" in one turn.
If you are not going to use vehicles, then I would say 4ft x 4ft.
And the board can be whatever you like. I would do a search for old photos of Route 66. I think anything you set there would look great!

Great figures, sure I've seen the brute at a couple of Rockabilly weekenders I've been to!
So anyone gonna stock the figs/rules in the UK?

Unfortunately, I don't have the answer to this. I expect that Brigade will sell it exclusively initially to see what the interest level is. But they are great about shipping overseas for those who are interested.
