Title: Japanese Equipment
Post by: Marshall on 04 June 2017, 04:03:17 PM
Hello first proper post so here I go...

I'm after some early war japanese Armour and equipment if anyone knows anywhere thats stocks them.

I'm after a Type 92 tankette (I can only find 3D printed ones which are extortionate), a type 93 armoured car (a British Crossley MI could make a good alternative) and a type 92 twin Hotchkiss AA gun.

All in 28mm.

if anyone has any suggestions they'll be much appreciated.

Both Company B & Warlord have decent Japanese ranges, but I'm afraid I don't know of a Type 92 out there, (though I'm happy to be corrected).
  Good luck with the search!

In 1/56th, outside of a few manufacturers you're stumped. Trenchworx have a line of early war Japanese vehicles which are probably more up your alley than Company B or Warlord, as those two are more mid/late war focused.

I've found that conversions are the way to go. The Japanese re-used a lot of parts between models, so whilst you may not be able to find the pre-war vehicle, you may get away with buying a descendent of it and hacking it up a bit (I'm in the process of turning a Chi-Ha into a Ho-Ri II by extended out the track assemblies).

You're probably better off just sticking with Trenchworx and having a few holes in your collection than scratchbuilding though.
