Title: A gametable. Humble beginnings.
Post by: Legion1963 on 06 June 2017, 10:12:58 PM
Indeed. A gametable and the contruction of one is subject of ongoing debate. For myself, i have decided some time ago that a modular approach where you have a collection of elements (like a house or trees) that can be arranged to need on the table itself, is the way forward. Not only enhances it flexibility but it is also cost effective. The photos that go with this thread are to illustrate what i conceive to be a suitable basic gametable. The plastic crates with colorfull lids will be changed in the near future with a custom made support for the actual table, an piece of MDF about 2,5 cm thick and about 120 x 180. On top of that comes several pieces of appropriate colored cloth and a piece of clear plastic tablecloth to simulate the water. In this particular instance the basic gametable was the groundwork for a near future jungle terrain. You can see picture of the completed jungle and miniatures in it, in the appropriate section. Sincere and positive comments are greatly appreciated. L1963. ;-)

I'm always interested in The different approaches taken by people on the forum. So I'm intrigued to see how you develop your ideas. As you never know what you'll learn.

Indeed. Thanks for all the response. There's a new thread 'Run through the jungle. pt1.' in the Future War section that shows the more or less completed gametable in action. ;-)
