Title: Lead Adventure Forum Figur - Poll - Figur
Post by: Prof.Witchheimer on February 14, 2007, 07:38:33 AM
OK, you know, we want an unique Forum fig. Read for more information and excellent Drawing of Eric Roof - http://forum.backofbeyond.de/viewtopic.php?t=1006

This pool is for the figur subject choice. Some of you wanted to see Prof.Witchheimer in 28mm :) What should it look like?

Both of them:

But we are in the 21 century so we need a male and a female.

Can there be anything more mysteries and weird than a woman ?

The "Mysterious Mastermind" fig should look like the Prof's old avatar!

Now that I'm not rushing to work and have time to think I find that I am inclined to agree with revford, two figures means double production costs and not everyone wants both figures.
A better way would be to make one figure, available to members of this forum for a limited time, then slightly alter the mould so that a different figure is made.  People would buy the first because it is a 'limited edition' and the sculpter could then add the altered figured to his range as a normal figure for sale to anyone.

I must say, that this is very economic way.

Ok, looks like, we need both figs but you would give priority to the adventurer one.

@revford, Big Guy - of course, i'm going to start with just one figur, i just wanted to know if the people would like to get both figs. But two minis for start cost too much.

Just curious...how much does it cost to commission a figure anyway?

This just came into my mind.  Too late probably.  But Mike Broadbent who sculpts for Eureka could also be a possibility.  His Flashman figures are excellent!

Does that also include the mould making and casting charges?

no :) that's just the sculpt/green. Moulding/casting is extra and cost additional 250-300$ or more.

You're looking at $500 on up for the sculpt and casting of about 200 figures. A lot will depend on whether a sculptor discounts for the Professor or anyone steps in to help. Casting will be basically a fixed cost since it's material costs.
