Title: Outpost highwaymen size comparison
Post by: manatic on 14 June 2017, 08:57:53 AM
Made a quick post (https://dawnofthelead.com/2017/06/14/outpost-highwaymen-size-comparison/) on the subject, thought the beef of it would be of interest here as well. I was frustrated that I couldn't find a size comparison picture for OWS' highwaymen, so I put together one of my own. Hope it's useful!

Thanks for the comparison. I'd be interested in your thoughts on them more generally. What the detail like? Casting quality etc.

It's also AWESOME to see a miniatures line featuring the same character in both on foot and mounted models! Many CONGRATULATIONS, Outpost - this is an example to be followed!  ;)

I'm happy with them! While the sculpting style won't be to everyone's taste (chunky, big heads, cartoony proportions) they look like they will be fun to paint. Detail is crisp and casting quality is good. There are some mould lines on some of the minis, but others will need practically no cleanup.

You can see some painted examples of them on my thread here:

They have received new heads and the horses are Front Rank Miniatures, not Outpost. They are really easy to paint, the detail is well defined, perhaps a little crude by some modern standards, but they do suit the period.

I am a huge fan of the Outpost highwaymen. Here is a photo of my collection, painted by Simon Bradley.

Thanks for posting that cianty, your photos have been some of the few I've been able to find that show OWS minis next to other manufacturers' stuff! Gierburg is one of my biggest inspirations, so thanks for that too.

manatic, I was going to say that if you need any specific size comparison photos, then just let me know. But I guess this is not the case anymore seeing your original post.  :)
