Title: Need a near future type driver for a Halo Warthog (28mm)
Post by: Onebigriver on 16 June 2017, 10:04:44 AM
I'm planning to buy some near future type troopers from EM4/Copplestone and I've got a McFarlane Halo Warthog to provide some support. Thing is it needs a driver and possibly a gunner. I'm willing to do a bit of conversion but I would like a base figure with legs and arms in an appropriate position for the driver.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Not my picture, the McFarlane is on the right: (http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb70/rwwingate/EisenkernRide-1-WizkidsVsMcFarlane_zps232cc88b.jpg)

Victoria Miniatures have seated legs - bottom of page:

And a quick search through the rest of the products will get you parts to make all sorts of drivers.

Not your picture, I know, but do you know the make of the Warthog on the left?

To my eye, that one has the better size...

I believe the one on the left is the Haloclix one. Way too big for "normal" troopers. The Mcfarlane one really is perfect for this stuff.

Cheers Inso.

Legs are feasible but arms remain a problem.

Arms from Cadian heavy weapons team, perhaps?

I knew I'd seen something on Mad Robot but couldn't find it. Are the legs available as well... I couldn't find them.

GW 40K Sentinel pilot's legs are a good fit. Seated Dreamforge Eisenkern stormtroopers should work too.

Any idea about the arms?

The arms could work just as well. They are very similar to the Cadian/Catachan Heavy Weapons arms

Hmmm, in a quandary now, look for a Cadian on Ebay UK or risk VAT charges on an order from Mad Robot....

I've done a couple Warthogs and always used Sentinal Pilot legs/body. The regular arms, gunner's arms, even converted Cadian arms work fine.

Thanks. I've found a Sentinel pilot on Ebay, and it's my cheapest option TBH.

I've decided to use the Warthog with my Urban War Viridians rather than buy EM4/Copplestone figures, so now I'll have to track down a Viridian marine to demolish!

Again thanks everyone for all the help.  :)
