I quit 40k and somehow scifi gaming a few years back...
But in the last months I found myself digging throu my lead mountain...paniting all this old stuff....:)
First here is a Genestealer Cult killteam for Shadow Wars from the Overkill box.
I allways wanted to do a Genestealer Cult....:D
So here is the start of the cult...

The minis are very nice and easy to paint... :-*

Never been a sci fi gamer but always think I should try it out and seeing your work makes me think it would be good to start!! Lovely work on them, really nice unit. :)
-
These are gorgeous! The patterning on the heads makes them look like Narns, or maybe the aliens from Alien Nation. Could you please take a close up shot of one of those guys? I'd love to get a better look at that patterning.
And the terrain is amazing! I love all of this.
-
Christmas pudding, that's some nice paintwork. Yessir!
-
Thanx gents. I try to do a detailed shot later....
Here is a pic of those lovely foundry rogue trader minis.
Took it some month back.
Intended for pulp alley in space games....;)

The Tallarn look great.
but those Genestealer Cultists look fantastic! Thank you for the close up shot.

paint jobs are the best I have seen on the metal guard, I always liked the metal models they had so much more character than the plastic guard offerings.
terrain looks interesting as well, any more photos?

Completely agree..
Cadians are more interesting with different heads but Catachans are almost unrescuable...
While old metals are all cool... And with such great painting they shine like a star

Ah, what you need is a set of plastic beastman heads (I think you can use Catachan arms on the beastman bodies as well).
I will have to see if I can find one.
-
Your paintjobs and photos remind me of why I fell in love with IG once upon a time...
-
very nice indeed
-
Thank you gentlemen...;)
Today only two more minis....;)

Great as always, but after all these photos I have to ask..

-
What happened to fanatic with eviscerator...
...he is waiting paitiently on the painting rack.....:)
He will be part of the inquisitorial detachment.
And thanx for the comments.

These guys are my first painted =I28= models back in the day.
I would like to get at least two more blister worth but they are not very competitively priced on ebay ;V

These are all looking great -- and like others, I too would love to see more of the terrain.

Grimdarkly, and hellishly fast.
I quite envy you. Mine are still bare grey..
I managed to finish 5 poxwalkers without bases and stick 2 black templat insignia to pair of primarises.. :(

Thanx gents...;)
Hope Nurgle is not too prod of my work...:D
Okay, here are two more marines.

@AWu
Two minis a day is not so fast for me...
...but these plague marines are loaded with details...:D
Cheers,
Don

These are just lovely, if that's the right term for it. You must live at your paint table to get so many figures painted so well, so quickly.
If I may ask, are you using washes and dry-brush? Is this layer painting? A combination of both?
-
Hi Michka,
I use army painter washes: Dark Tone and Strong Tone apllied with a brush over base colouring.
After that I paint 1 or 2 highlights with the original colour.
Hope that helps....;)
DV
-
The nurgle marines are fantastic. Have you tried the AP Soft Tone on lighter colors? It works better than strong or dark tone.
-
Yes...I tried soft tone for very light colours.
atm I do only watered down strong tone. Works okay for me...soft tone was always too light for me.
Finished today the deamonic machine from the dark imperium box. Kind off finished....:)

The crowd is growing.

Great models even thou they are only two part models...
I like them....:)
Cheers,
Don

Beautiful work on all those minis, especially the genestealer cultists and those Nurglites. I envy your rapid pace!
-
Damn you man, You have painted the whole box already!

What shade of green do you use?
-
There is some serious top quality eye candy in this thread.
