Title: (AP 2017) 40K 8th ed and friends - pics at last!
Post by: Vanvlak on 19 June 2017, 09:03:51 AM
Well here goes.
There will be some stuff going on here before August as I intend to try out a few paint ideas - probably including Tau, Necrons, Marines, IG (sorry, I'm old fashioned!), Dark Eldar, Orks and Genestealers.
I'll probably paint up one of each to begin with.

Test colours 1 (from this year's LPL) - Dark Eldar.
The yellow is richer than seen in the photo.

Sorry about that, was destroying my photobucket account.
Service will be resumed once I transfer to a new photo hosting service.
Anyway, the substitute kitten is better painted than my DE....

There, that should have made it visible again, right?

I finally decided, only to be beaten to the start by Mad Doc Morris: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=101982.msg1265900#msg1265900 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=101982.msg1265900#msg1265900)

I'll be tackling the two forces in the 40K box, but I have no doubt there will be interludes; I'll at least try to keep it all 40k.

Some changes: I am shifting to Flickr instead of Photobucket; and here is where I'll be working - or at least modelling:

It's too hot to use my usual room upstairs, so the cellar it will be - except for painting: last I tried the paint just would not dry down here!

A spot of Tzeentchian nostalgia - an old, old model:

Meanwhile, to add some contemporary bit of modelling, a tiny bit of scenery in progress:

In the grim darkness of the future there's a promise of comfy cushions to go with the sofa...

Fieldwork certainly put paid to any progress....and now the temperature 'feels like 41degrees Centigrade'...

Nothing finished yet   :-[
My painting room is on the top floor, and it's horribly hot this year over here in Malta. And in my other work area, the basement, it's so damp acrylics will NOT dry! I can paint stuff underground and dash up with them to dry, but it just is not practical.

So instead I am focusing on building - paint will have to happen later.
Here are some of the 8th ed models assembled:

Three snap fix Plaguemarines I bought on a whim:

Er - it's hardly a beast of Nurgle is it? I must have digressed...

Roll on the cooler weather...
