Good wee review, I don't have a need for them but i am sure plenty will/ :)

I really don't like this trend of making separate boxes with only slightly different content. Until now I thought it was mostly Fireforge who did it.
Lets hope it does not catch on.

Quite disappointing. I hope the release doesn't discourage Perry from doing their own.

At first i thought perhaps they only had one mould machined up and the extra sprue section was added/removed via blocks.
But no, It's clear from the tiny differences that they actually machined two seperate moulds for these two near identical kits...
That's a massive amount of money to spend to make the same thing twice! someone In the planning department done messed up!

Sounds like what they did with french chasseurs and lancers. They grew on me when I had the actual sprues in hand until I noticed the lack of elite options.
Don't get me wrong, I quite like warlord's plastic range in that they offer plastic alternatives that match reasonably well with Perrys. You just can't get by with them alone, when a bit more thought in the process could have resulted in a much better product (like the number of core and elite miniatures / packaging with their french infantry).
