Hi all
After a recent trip to Poland I'm looking to paint up some Teutonic Knights and Poles for the Grunwald, Great War period.
I've read the Ospreys already but they're a bit sparse on heraldry info. Any information would be gratefully received. Information on arms and armour also welcome, thinking of using Perry and Kingmaker minis.

Invisible Officer is very knowledgeable (I think he might have perfect recall! :D) and has a Teutonic Knights thread on the Warlord forum (http://www.warlordgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=26128). He always includes some history in his threads so it is worth checking out.

That's great, an interesting read. Thanks for your help.

Teutonic Knights by William Urban and the Northern Crusades by Eric Christiansen are the most comprehensive books in english.
this website has some good info
http://www.imperialteutonicorder.com/id16.html (http://www.imperialteutonicorder.com/id16.html)
Osprey Has a teutonic knight book, as well as a scandinavian focused Northern Crusades book, and a Battle of Tannenberg/Grunwald book a large chunk of which is teutonic history/composition, and the battle of Lake Peipus osprey book will give some additional context as well.
Osprey also has 2 books in thier castle/fortifications series: Castles of the Teutonic order in Prussia (1) and castles of the Teutonic Order in Livonia (2). These two titles have a wealth of Historical information.

Thanks guys, more to look into.

There is also The Military History of the Teutonic Knights. I believe the author is Urban.
