So I have embarked on a long project, I intend to collect units for all the regiments that took part in the Monmouth Rebellion and the Battle of Sedgemoor, first up will be Kirke's Lambs, but as a test I thought I would paint up King James as I have never painted this period
-
Very nice, a great period and the Front Rank figures are great.
-
Excellent painting.
Lots of units to painted.
Any idea of figure scale,
1 to 20, 1 to 40?
-
Not sure at the moment, Front rank packs come in 24 musketeers and 12 pike, haven't a clue on rules at the moment, there is no rush because it's gonna take a long time to collect
-
Lovely painting, great start, hope you post more on this. :)
-
It's a great campaign to do (especially with 'what-ifs') and actually feasible to do every unit involved - looking forward to seeing your progress.
That looks a good start and that base looks great.
-
That's a handsome figure 8)
-
Lovely job :)
cheers
James

Very nice painting, well done, good start!
I'm interested in the Monmouth rebellion, looking forward what's coming next!
-
This should be good. :)
-
Nicely done.
-
Lovely work.
-
First five musketeers finished for Kirke's Lambs, more on the painting table
-
Lovely!! My favourite unit Kirke's Lambs and you have done them proud sir!! :)
-
Very well done! Keep up the good job!
-
Oh yes, loving this! The nitwit on the horse is really good too. Smashing stuff!
-
Very good
-
Well, life has got in the way of the hobby, I have base coated the next lot of Kirke's Lambs but thought I would ease myself back into paint with a rebel officer
-
Lovely stuff once more!! Nice work. :)
-
Very nice work.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of these.
A two week gap is not so bad! My Williamite project has been stalled since late last year. But seeing your figures does make me want to get them back on the painting table. Even though I sprayed some lizardmen at the weekend. Too many projects, not enough time.
-
First unit of musketeers finished, after a bit of research,Kirke's Lambs should be armed with flintlock muskets not matchlock, but I'm not changing now, only the Dumbarton's had matchlocks
-
I do love these big chunky Front Rank late C17th figures, and your paintwork maes them look very smart indeed 8)
-
Whatever rules you settle on, here is a mini-campaign of the rebellion http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/mcnelly/vb/campaigns/Monmouth_1685.htm
designed for Volley & Bayonet rules but easily converted to other rule systems.
