I have had to jump up and down a fair bit with these guys who have tried to fob me off with various excuses. The lst of which is that they have moved and are having trouble with casting . I don't want to cast aspersions but my friend who lives only a couple of miles away got his stuff 2 months ago. When you go on their page you will note quite a few stern messages . These guys are not covering themselves in glory !

I got my stuff, though one had a broken and, more importantly, missing part that they never got back to me about.

Well, I e-mailed them again after my post here and got a reply. I have since gotten word that a package from them has arrived, but I haven't been able to go pick it up yet.

I've had the same problem.  I bought figures from them at a show in Malaga in March and when I got back to UK found one was miscast.  I've emailed several times (and I know my emails are being read) but apart from one (March) early email saying a replacement was on its way "this week" I can't get them to respond at all. I have friends at a local wargames club in Malaga and I will try to get them to chase Kraken up and I will be back there for 6 weeks myself next January if all else fails but its a poor show from them all round.

I'm still waiting they did send an email a few weeks back saying they were having problems and trying to resolve 😔

Willie: I'm really shocked that you still haven't received your figures. It would certainly make me think twice before ordering any more figures from them. I wonder whether their problems might be something to do with their moulds. Some of the figures I received had spare chunks of metal around the bottom of the brims of their hats, as if their moulds were deteriorating, which surprised me since I'd have thought that my figures were some of the earlier ones they'd cast.

Paul,

Received this a few weeks ago so hopefully they will turn up it does put you off though.

El Kraken Released says:
We have not been able to send you your miniatures yet, as we have had the machinery stopped since we moved in. The power supply available at the new location was not compatible. We've been fixing this issue for a while, which at first seemed simple, but has been delayed longer than we expected. At the moment we are waiting for the power company to approve the new installation, which must be imminent. This has been a serious problem for us, since it has paralyzed all our work, not only to comply with the few backers still waiting for erroneous parts or failures in shipments, but to start manufacturing as a trademark.
Sorry for this inconvenience, we will try to compensate you in some way. We are not going to leave any backers without their miniatures. Please, do not even think about it . We will keep you informed and we will notify you as soon as they are sent.

It sounds like these guys had no experience of producing figures and have encountered problems which they never imagined could exist. A pity because it is nice to see someone coming up with some specifically Spanish figures for the period. I hope they get their problems sorted out soon and that it doesn't lose them too much business.

Living in the same part of Spain as the Kraken guys l can sympathise with their situation.
The Spanish power supply is still in the hands of an antiquated and corrupt monopolistic organisation that cares little for its customers.
They are probably the most hated and complained about company in Spain. As a customer you can pretty much guarantee having to resolve problems with them through the ombudsman at least once a year.

Getting an industrial use electricity connection and associated certification done quickly will be a case of how much cash you are prepared to put into the plain brown envelopes and how many officials you are prepared to give them to.

Kraken are decent guys who have been around the hobby for a long while. Like a lot of small businesses their communication could be better, but l am confident they will sort things out for everyone. I also had some miscast pieces in my Kickstarter set which l am waiting replacements for.

Well, I picked up the package that was waiting for me and it's indeed the replacement for the broken figure, so I can't complain.  :)

Does anyone know if the miniatures can be bought yet? Or are they available only for Kickstarter backers? I wish I could have support them, but the kickstarter coincided with me saving money for my youngest university tuition, so I was forced to pass.

They have recently started add some to the webstore, so I imagine they will continue to do so.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't been able to find their webstore, though. Not one where I can buy anything anyway!

It is a pity, because I really wanted to buy from them. I have the Conde-Duque de Olivares figure -a friend that participated in the kickstarter got it for me- and I like the style and the cast.

Well... I guess I will need to wait. It is not as if I have not a ton of miniatures to paint!  lol

I have a handful that I'm willing to part with if they're of interest, on account of having upscaled my swashbuckling to a larger scale. :)

Yes still waiting I think they should just refund now. :'(

Willie: I agree. they should give you their best estimate of when you will get the figures and then give you the option of waiting for them or having a full refund.

And yet another month rolls buy with absolutely hee haw! I'm feeling like a stuck record . I've e mailed, commented and even tried to phone but these guys just rubber ear everything . Its actually for the principal of the matter now as I dont like being ripped off ! This is exactly the reason that KS get a bad name !!

I think this is just terrible behaviour from El Kraken / Tercios Miniatures. It's no way to carry on business, and it'll put everyone off them. I can understand that they may have problems outside their control, but they should be offering full refunds now.

Just checked the web site seems the power issue has been resolved so hopefully some figures will appear in the near future.

Now 4 weeks after they resolved the power issue still no sign of the figures seems to be quite a few of us still waiting👎

I have long been wary of kickstarters, but this one really tempted me, as it was a subject I've long been interested in.  In light of how it seems to be turning out, I am so glad I decided against jumping in.

It's too bad for the more reputable vendors out there, but basically this whole sorry saga, along with horror stories about a few other KS ventures that ended in tears, has me sworn off on backing any kind of crowd funding project at all. A bird in the hand, etc.

And I have to say, going by the photos I've seen, I've been less than impressed with a number of the sculpts that Tercios produced, many of which seem to me to be a bit woodenly posed, with some oddly-proportioned ones as well.

A year or so ago, in the absence then of any decent Spanish TYW figures, I broke out the epoxy putty and have been converting existing ECW/ TYW figures to produce my own Spanish for the Rocroi period.  More effort perhaps, but I've been happy with the results- at least they are uniquely mine, warts 'n all.

And of course I haven't had to deal with the disappointment of putting money into something for which I get nothing in return.

For myself, I don't think I will subscribe to any future kickstarter unless I have already seen photos of the 'greens' of the figures and the manufacturer already has some sort of track record in manufacturing figures.

I too am VERY wary of Kickstarters . I've done half a dozen in total and have been pretty happy. Steel Fist, Renaissance skeletons and the ACW figures from Stephen Huckaby have been excellent .
This however is verging on a rip off !!

Having kicked and screamed and shouted and moaned . I have now received my figures (yesterday) . I have to say that they are very very nice indeed . I am very much looking forward to painting them. Crap communications but the chaps have fulfilled their KS .
I will now shut up .

Glad they eventually sorted out your delivery. The figures are really great and paint up very well. I hope they can get everything settled down and find some time to continue the development of the Italian Wars expansion of Tercios.

Perhaps this whole fiasco will serve to make them re-consider using Kickstarter as a development option in future. I certainly would not back another campaign from them.

My figures also arrived today so at least the guys kept their promise to deliver. I am also wary of backing another Kickstarter after this experience.

I got mine very early in the piece, so have not suffered the pain of others.

However, I have just started assembling them....................................

I'm afraid my fingers are going to need to be whittled down somewhat to complete this process!

I've just received an e-mail to the effect that Tercios Miniatures has just opened a web store which is selling the Spanish (including what appear to be some new figures) and some new Dutch figures. Looking at the photos on the web store, I wonder whether the figures now have slotta bases.

Just gone into the web store and the cost of the figures, and the cost of postage, both look pretty high to me. Pity, because I quite like the look of a couple of the Dutch figures.

I think it's this one:

At least the Kickstarter profile links to that one.

Sorry if this has been addressed already, but i'd like to mix some of the cavalry in (either within units or as seperate units) with my exisitng Bicorne cavalry (used as TYW).  Any size comparsions out there for the cavalry?

I saw their figures in the flesh a week or so ago at a wargames show near Malaga. I've no idea how big Bicorne figures are - but the Tercio figures look to be compatible with Perry Miniatures. Hope that helps.
