As it says in the title. I'm working on a fountain model and need to add water to it, both to cover the inside of the basin, as something to represent the spouting water.
So what products would be best for those (available online in the EU/UK)?
Cheers,
WK

Got a picture of the fountain at the moment so we can see what sort of water fall will occur?
cheers

This tutorial shows the potential of the Vallejo products: link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZRoYVykB_Y&feature=youtu.be)

Yes:

Interesting. It looks like there's supposed to be real water going through it with those clear tubes ???
For a fine, tap like flow you can use acrylic rod heat bent to shape and then cover it in something like Scenic Effects water effects. For a more gentle overflow of the main basin you can cut out acetate to shape, wrap it around the basin and then cover in the same water effects again.
I would suggest you experiment until you feel comfortable with the process because it can be hit and miss for the first few times.
Also use google images for water flows to help get the right sort of 'texture'.
Hope that made sense :)
cheers

Indeed, it's a working fountain, but I dismantled all that in order to fix the crooked assembly and to remove the unseemly wiring (it wasn't battery operated).

One thing that tends to work well for water sprays such as from a fountain is to start with some of the clear fishing line for the sprays and falls (Use a couple pieces for the larger ones). It tends to be hard enough to let you arch it and keep its shape, just use a bit of super glue to hook it in place. Then use a bit of resin to do the main basins for the water and let it dry.
If you want, do the resin in a few layers and you can add things like fish to the fountain.
After the resin is fully cured, get some clear modgepodge, and brush it over the fishing line to thicken it into what you want and stipple it in varying amounts over the resin for the ripples.
Once that's dry, take some pearlescent paint (I tend to use the craft paints for it), and very lightly drybrush over the water in the areas where the water is most disturbed for the frothing look.
After that, use some gloss varnish to cover the water and it also works great for splashes from the fountain..

Thanks for the suggestions. The model itself is quite big, as I intend to use it with 60mm figures rather than my regular 28mm.
Note, I've removed the unseemly glue this was plastered in and will put it back together in a (hopefully) less crooked way.
