Title: Nap Grenadiers a Cheval Question
Post by: Argonor on 27 July 2017, 05:13:28 PM
The Old Guard GaC had muskets, sources seem pretty solid about that.

BUT: How did they carry them in action, please?  :?

I do not know if it can help but I found this document in French sorry it seems that the grenadiers on horseback did not carry muskets in battle

Thanks, French is fine, as I understand most (and my wife has a master degree in French)  - seems pretty clear on the subject!  :)

"Ils ne sont pas emmenés
au combat et servent uniquement au service a pied."

This would mean they only used them for guard/garrison duty and the likes, if I understand it correctly?
