After three games of Congo using my Pirates as proxies, I finally laid on a game with the proper figures.
We played the first scenario, with the White Men trying to get away with the crown as the Zanzibaris tried to stop them.
As always, a fun game; this time nobody got any VPS for the crown - the adventurers carrying it were narrowly prevented from exiting, then driven back in combat. Meanwhile a big pile of loot discovered in an old tomb became the focus of much fighting, while a rogue lion savaged several battered units. An excellent game, and in the end a victory for Zanzibar by 8 points to 5.

Cool. I played this one recently as my first game of Congo. I used a ridiculous array of pirates/chinese peasants/arabs as proxies. Looking forward to more games and painting up a second column.

Nice table setup. Must have been an exciting game!
