Title: Stokes mortar
Post by: Bullshott on 29 March 2009, 06:28:02 PM
Does anyone make a separate WW1 Stokes mortar that is compatible with Copplestone-sized figures? I know Renegade do a pack of two mortar teams but I only want one mortar and have no use for the Renegade's crew figures, so its a bit of a waste buying the pack for just one mortar.

You could asked Northstar if they are willing to sell you a stokes as a separate item.

No hurt in trying.

Anything wrong with some plastic tubing, a square of plasticard for the base and some thin plastic rod for the bipod? Stokes were fairly primitive beasts.

Try Tradition, its stated as 30mm but i would have thought that it would fit with copplestone (they have a german heavy Mortar too) Bit steep on the P&P though  :o

Thanks everyone for the replies. I rather like the GWM mortar and crew - they would be fairly easy to convert to what I want. Can anyone tell me how they size-up to other manufacturers - in particular Copplestone figures?

I can't help you with the Stokes, as I don't have it. But I was taking some pics just now anyway, so I grabbed a Copplestone Indian and a GWM Tommy. Not exactly what you wanted, but will perhaps give some idea of how the two companys' figures generally shape up against each other:
