Hello people!
I'm into the Russian Civil War in a big way. 15mm Peter Pig.
Halfway through a Maximilian Adventure army too, in 25mm Foundry, that I really must get round to finishing.
The Forum really needs a favicon though. You know, the little icons that show up beside your bookmarks and in your tabs. Is there some technical reason why we can't have one here?

Hello Mark,
welcome. I know your website and it is excellent.

Hello and welcome!
By favicon do you mean the icon right beside the website url that's a sheet of loose-leaf?
-
Yes. Most web-sites go for something a bit funkier and that represents their site a bit better.
It's really easy to do: you just put a 16 by 16 file called favicon.ico on the root directory (where the home page is).
The hard part is deciding what to use as a logo.

Mark, I'm sure there is no technical reason why we don't have a favicon. It has simply not come up before, as nobody considered it important. You may be in for a wait before you see one, though. The website owner (the Prof) is on an extended trip with limited intenet access, so non-critical stuff like this is kind of on the back burner until he gets back.
I had a bit of a look at your site. I'm curious as to the phrase 'pygmy wars.' I've never heard this used before, is it an established name for those conflicts (which I confess I know next to nothing about), or is it something you invented yourself? What do pygmies have to do with it?

It comes from Winston Churchill, who on the WWI armistice is reputed to have said something along the lines of "The war of the giants has ended; the wars of the pygmies have begun." My site covers those wars post-1918 that Winston was so rude about.
And we game with little tiny men.

Aha, I see. Thanks, Mark. Nice to learn something new.
