Title: Space 1889 / Savage Worlds?
Post by: richarDISNEY on 02 April 2009, 02:39:32 PM
I thought that I had read somewhere that Pinnacle Games was making a Space 1889 / Savage worlds version.

Any thoughts?  It might make the VSF genre more approachable to 'casual' gamers...

I personally like the idea of a Savage Space 1889...

Still got the original, so it's no use to me.  :) (And someone actually gave me a supplement for my birthday that I never managed to pick up back in the day, which was nice.)

Dunno, really. The original game didn't have much wrong with it, so I don't really see the point. Why not just reprint it if you have the rights? On the other hand this isn't doing anyone any harm, is it? From what I've seen of the Savage Worlds system it seems like it has some good ideas in there. Why not?

The original is in print.  Pinnacle is releasing a one-off adventure set in the SP1889 world, using the Savage Worlds system.

Ah. Thanks, Tommy20. I'm a bit out of the loop when it comes to current events in RPGs.

Hated it. The setting etc was superb but the actual game was clunky and just awful. A view that seems fairly common after reading a few different forums.

Well each to their own. Loved it and had some great times playing the game, whatever people on forums think about it.  :)

Yeah, who'd listen to someone on a forum anyway?  ::)
