Hi LAFers,
At the weekend just gone I co-hosted a largish demo game of colonial Sudan with my mate Stanley for the NWS club here in sunny Perth, Western Australia. The event was the Southern Hemisphere open..Perth's first large wargaming event with tournaments held over 3 days and around 3000 coming through the doors. Our club and others held a number of demo games, including this one on the Sunday. It was a good excuse to get my new terrain I had made out, including the zariba and the flexible desert gaming mat that I'd made for an 8x6' table. We had quite a few people who'd never looked at colonial or even historical wargaming pop over and roll a few dice over the day, including some hard-bitten 40K gamers who were smitten with the whole concept!
So this is not a battle rep as such, just a collection of pics of a rather stop/ start game that played over the day. We played Sword and the Flame rules which we love!

Lev, lovely looking game. With you and Stanley involved, it would have been a great game, shame I missed it.

Congratulations! Striking terrain, love the tower, appealing miniatures. Well done. Respectfully, Bill P.

That's a beauty of a game!

Thanks everyone. Yes it was a lot of fun pushing that much lead around. It was the first outing for my new terrain mat, unrolling it in front of a crowd.. As a friend of mine said "so.. No pressure then.."

Terrific stuff! That terrain is excellent. :-* Well done on recruiting new players to the era.

That looks splendid and 3000 people through the doors is pretty damned impressive!
