King George commands and we obey. Over the hills and far away...
well, skirmishing in the outposts actually! The contestants are in the starting blocks ready to go. Sharpie's Chosen Men, them Portuguese brown jobs who's name I can't pronounce and a cloud of Voltijoors to take 'em all on. Problem is buildings, who makes Spanish/Portuguese,houses and wotnot in 25/28mm?

If you are on a mdf mood try these modular and cheap buildings from Warbases.
Really nice to transform and combine.

:o Sacrublur! No, sacrilege!!! :o
Just gleaned these Voltijoors from evilbay, they've definitely marched in the 'grand manner' going by those old skool bases, sacrilege to rebase 'em but I need single figures... so thought I'd better immortalise them before the butchery begins!
:'(

Has.been and vodkafan very kindly sent me a set of the rules they use in their 'Over the Hills' skirmishes, they're excellent. Most of my cronies are very familiar with 'Song of Blades and Heroes'... what do you Wellingtonics fans think of 'Songs of drums and Shakos' as a skirmish set?
???
-
They're called Caca-doors. No, really.
-
;D That's as bad as 'Curryasars'! ;D
AAARGH!!!
:o
-
'Curryasars'. How ridiculous. It's pronounced queer-ass-ears, of course.
-
That's wot we called 'em as kids when we got in the model shop...
"Two boxes of Airfix Curryasars please."
Sad bit is, I've still got 'em nearly fifty years later!
:'(
-
Are they painted yet?
-
'Who makes Peninsular buildings?'
Harry you know I would make them (make anything if people pay me).
-
I tried to look at the piccys of the scenery in the skirmish game you and vodkafan had earlier this year... but, they've all gone in the fotobuket plague!
:'(
-
Some of it has gone to Vodkafan, the rotten swine plied me with money until I broke.
You tell me what you want & we'll haggle over the price.
-
Three or four Spanish/Portuguese red tilled buildings with some village walls and gate type thingys and a bit of scatter stuff.
:)
-
Could anyone recommend a Vallejo green that would look right for the 95th Rifles please?
???
-
Tell you what, I need to replace my Peninsular buildings, so I will get working on your list.
If you like the stuff (I will post pictures) you can make me an offer.
An alternative is tell me how much you want/ are prepared to pay & I will work to that budget.
Let me know.
Bye for now.

Sorted... 'Fistful of Lead:- Horse and Musket', dedicated playing cards and a bunch of British, Froggy, Spanish and Portuguese light bobs. Now it's time for...

Had our first go with 'Fistful of Lead:- Horse and Musket' today. We had a bunch of Voltijoors searching for Marshal Ney's lost treasure chest, some gaudily plumed Spanish light Infantrymen who'd got wind of the loot in a local tavern, and a section of 95th Rifles out and about looking for trouble.
I was pleasantly surprised how the good Baron's little tweaks to his rules make it a tad different from his Wild West rules. We tended to let fly, much as we do in the western gunfights, and quickly had a load of blokes standing about reloading. This makes having a 'free reload' or 'wild ace' card pretty handy! Kind of got me thinking that musket armed mountain men agin bow armed (they can shoot every move) Redskins might be a damned sight closer contest than you'd think!

Kids put together and got Daddio this for Crimbo... time for Harp and Sharper to march again!

Lovely. Gotta be happy with those.
