I'm going to buy a couple of sprues to check them out but they already look good. It's always great to see some diversity with those aliens.

Pretty damned cool! :o
-
That's a useful set of sprues.
-
Mixed feelings on these.
I like the idea and if they are the right size I fancy mixing these with Genestealer Cult figures but the look a bit rough and plain in places.
One to see what others do first :D

Was looking at these the other day, REally nice band of odds and ends!
These and the maalstroms edge terrain sprues make for some really nice sci fi all purpose stuff.

yeah, their terrain sprues are really useful. Have to buy some more...

Not bad, although I'm more interested by their "angel" aliens. Both the fishbat minnows and the adult form are appealingly creepy looking.
-
They definately seem to be improving the quality of the sculpts. I bought some of the early Eperian figurse and while well cast they were quite stiff and awkward looking sculpts. These (at least by the pics) seem to have a bit more life to them.

If they are the same size as their other figures, they should fit just fine. The others are right in line with GW's heroic proportions.

This does look intriguing. With some hand swaps, and maybe a tad of greenstuffing/gentle conversion, these ought ton be suitable for making some CIVPOP.
-
I want to make different civilian characters for my Necromunda/Imunda games
I sculpted/worked over the different dollies as I don't fancy to sculpt my own dollies for supporting characters...
Those looks perfect as starting point.
I would like to see the size comparison with GW models.

Is there a UK supplier?
-
Personally I've less than no interest in Maelstrom's Edge --- but I think these will be perfect if they scale at all with the new Star Wars minis game --- generic rebel fighters? All day long.
I do think that games which have a tiny market share like ME are better off making the best model kits they can - and making damn sure other people find them appealing for other projects/games...widening your market is more important than solidifying your IP this early in their development.

When i was working in store we had 1 copy of the starter box and two of the scenery sprues. Apparently they had been sent them on the games release and it just hadn't budged an inch.
The scenery sprues I bought but the starter box is , to the best of my knowledge, still there.
We did try to get some of the robots in stock once but it was amazingly difficult , to the point that we just gave up. The uk distributor didn't have any, hadn't since launch and had basically given up trying.
Weirdly enough they had a big stand at salute! no demos of the game, mostly just the starter box on sale.
You can order through their official website which is fairly painless. hopefully this release has caught a little more interest and might prompt them to get a better relationship with the distributors.

I'll admit...I don't know how they're still rolling on. I see people say "oh sales are good, and progress is happening". One person I know actually knows what ME is, no one else. That's two rather large game groups in different states and cities. ME is an absolute ghost.

Agreed. I'm not sure either. But then the game is by the people who run Dakkadakka so maybe ad revenue is enough to keep them afloat?

I've watched a few videos of gameplay and product unboxings. The figs look okay but not terrific (even the ones I rather like are only okay, not must-haves) but the game sounds clunky at best. The setting is...let's be generous and say it seems inspired by elements of the old VOR: the Maelstrom game. To the point where I wonder if the game's name is a deliberate joke.
-
Where I have found them for sale, I have found them to be overpriced.
I don't think they have thought through the sprues properly either. For example, these come in a box of 18 miniatures apparently. In that set there will be 36 sets of legs!!
There is more appeal to these than the other sets I think, but then the style is a bit chunky. I think there are better options out there, such as Anvil Industry for example.

Well the game was kind of designed by committee by the users of dakkadakka...make of that what you will.
We cracked open a box at work and tried it once. It felt like a mixture of Magic the gathering, 40k and warmachine. But like, all the worst ,competitive parts, and none of the fun intuitive stuff.
It was certainly playable but god it was dull.
-
I know at Partizan there were a few sellers knocking them out at significant discounts, 30 or 40% off IIRC, which suggests it's not moving in the UK.

I found this image on Dakka Dakka. It is the most useful comparison photo I have seen yet.

Those do look pretty promising. Maybe I'll get some when I order my angels. Gotta have some fishbats.

If they are compatible with GW plastic Cadians, those legs will go nicely with the spares from my Forgeworld Renegade conversions.
Was there any spares from the Salute freebie?
-
There were spare legs on the Salute freebies, they were just a frame of the troops from the starter set.
I don't personally have any, but I have looked at a set that someone else got.
