Title: New Pulp Retro Sci-Fi Figure
Post by: Captain Gamma on February 16, 2007, 10:43:29 PM
Hi guys,
For your information here's a picture of the first in my commissioned range of Retro-Sci Fi figures that I am bringing out over the coming months.

This particular chap is Captain Gamma of the Proton Rangers, a noble legion that once brought truth and Justice to the Galaxy before being betrayed and cast into a black hole by a power hungry comrade.

10 years later the Rangers have mysteriously returned, not having aged even a day and now equipped with some curious pieces of alien technology.

This band of heroes now seeks to overthrow their one time friend the tyrannical dictator Major Canis and his army of Mecha-Men and thereby  bringing freedom and justice back to what has now become a cynical greedy universe.

The figure is armed with a ray gun and electro-sabre- a sabre that bristles with powerful electrical charge at the push of a button.

He wears an alien teleportation device on his chest activated by aligning 3 dials in order to pin point the location then pressing the centre button. This allows the Rangers to teleport in and out of danger.

Stay tuned for more Proton Rangers such as the Galactic Gunfighter Jek Starkiller, Klug Pluton the gentle giant and Corvus Libra: master inventor.

Hope you like the figure. He was sculpted by Bob Olley and is fully compatible with W.S.D.s Dick Garrison range.

In a word 'Wow!'

Mark one down as sold, Cap. I really love the retro feel to it. The Ray Gun is one of the best I've seen.

Thanks for the positive comments guys.s

Well the first casts are ready and I have a veritable legion of metal Gammas available. Feel free to E-Mail me at  the Quartz Sanctum for details.

Incidentally I should point out that the electro-sabre is a typical metallic sabre that bristles with electricity when activated. It's not to be confused with a light sword. ( Sir Gannymede the lost Knight will have one of them.)

Normally I'm not that much into Sci-Fi stuff at the moment, but more figs in this style could change that :)

This is fantastic! (There's a pun there...) When are these available? Where do I send my Galactic Groats to? There's so much raised detail that will paint up sooo good, even in the hands of a £$%^& painter like me! I may well paint up my old Shia Khan Space Goblins to use with Captain Gamma - reading "Larklight" has convinced me that Space Goblins count as Retro-SF!
And it means Dick Garrison now has some-one to have a pint with...(!)

I went ahead and ordered one of the figures.

If i get it quick enough, and have time to do it, he may just take Dick Garrison's place as Star Commander in my Fantastic Worlds Cold Wars Games...

Great work! I like the busy color palette with blacks and bronzes, very comic-strip-esque.

Just wanted to say I ordered one of these Monday and received it in the USA today. 4 day shipping across the pond is fantastic and Craig was exceedingly helpful and informative. If you want this guy don't have any hesitations about the service.
also the casting on the fig is very good anf he will take minimal clean up.
